Apple’s latest iPhone 15 series is currently one of the top-selling smartphones across the globe. However, while the iPhone 15 is reigning, the tech world is eagerly anticipating the release of Apple’s next flagship device- the iPhone 16, especially the Pro series. Rumors surrounding the iPhone 16 Pro are already surfacing around the internet, offering tantalizing glimpses of what might be in store for the next pro smartphones by Apple. With whispers of enhancements spanning from design changes to hardware upgrades, the iPhone 16 Pro is said to be a game-changer in the mobile world.

Let’s take a detailed look at all the things we are expecting or are rumored about Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro lineup.

New colors

Amongst the most talked-about rumors is the possibility of a revamped color lineup for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Based on leaks from a Weibo post, Apple might introduce a new “space black” and “rose” titanium color option while bidding farewell to the blue titanium variant. This shift in colors follows Apple’s transition from shiny stainless steel to matte titanium with the iPhone 15 Pro series, indicating the company’s commitment to refining its aesthetic appeal.

Additionally, Apple is also rumored to bring some subtle tweaks to existing colors, such as space black and white titanium.

New button

Apple is also rumored to introduce a new capture button with the upcoming phone lineup. The rumored “Capture button” is on the lower right side. This dedicated camera button could provide easier access to camera features, freeing up the existing “Action button” for other functions. In addition to the capture button, Apple might also make its existing Action button available for all smartphones in the iPhone 16 lineup and make it bigger in size.

Bigger display

But wait, that’s not all. Recent speculation suggests that the iPhone 16 Pro will undergo significant internal upgrades as well. CAD files as reported by 9 to 5 Mac hint at a larger screen size, with the Pro Max model rumored to boast a massive 6.9-inch display. However, despite the increase in screen real estate, Apple is said to aim to maintain the device’s ergonomic design, ensuring a comfortable grip for users.

Thinner bezels

Meanwhile, Apple is also said to bring enhancements in display technology that may enable Apple to further reduce bezel size, creating a more immersive viewing experience without compromising the device’s form factor. Reports indicate that Apple’s display suppliers have developed a Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology, allowing for ultra-thin bezels across all models of the iPhone 16 series.

Powerful processor for AI

The iPhone 16 Pro is also expected to feature big upgrades in connectivity and processing power. Enhanced Wi-Fi capabilities, upgraded 5G support, and a more powerful chipset promise lightning-fast performance and a seamless user experience. Notably, Apple’s focus on artificial intelligence (AI) is set to take center stage with the introduction of the A18 Pro chip, specifically tailored for on-device AI computing. With a larger die area and increased AI computing cores, the A18 Pro chip is poised to deliver unparalleled processing power, unlocking new possibilities for AI-driven features and functionalities.

Under-display Face ID

While the iPhone 16 Pro might not feature an under-display Face ID just yet, leaks suggest Apple is working towards this bezel-free future. Technical hurdles remain for the selfie camera integration, but Apple seems determined to achieve a seamless, all-screen design.

Camera upgrades

The iPhone 16 Pro is also expected to pack a powerful punch in the camera department. Rumors suggest 4K spatial video capture, a significant leap from the current 1080p resolution limit.

While the details inside the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro are interesting, it is important to note that these are just rumors at this point. While some sources have proven reliable in the past, we’ll have to wait for Apple’s official announcement to know for sure what the iPhone 16 Pro has in stores.
